Is there any way to get my computer up running again or am I out of luck? My OEM bios is 8192kb but the bios for the non OEM is 4096kb. If I dump the currently flashed bios and open it in uefitool it says invalid uefi image that it's past the end of the write area or something and only shows the top 2 or 3 headings like it's only half the bios. However when I try it in my computer I still get no boot. I'm currently trying hotswapping the bios chip into my brothers computer and flashing it successfully in afudos with /p /b /k /n /x

I know this is an old post and I'm sorry to bring it back up but I still have the same motherboard P8H61-M PRO and managed to brick my bios and have no boot or video (I know I should've left it alone). I have dumped a copy of the BIOS just in case.

I'm going to just assume there's probably nothing that can be done without getting a different motherboard but I've been searching around looking at different bios versions and am afraid to just try flashing another BIOS in case it's the wrong one altogether and I'm not sure if mod tools would work on it. Unfortunately the model has obviously been discontinued and there's no support or anything for it but here's all I could find. Basically the CPU is a bottleneck and I was wondering could it be overclocked (for now until he has money to build a better one). I put in an R7770 GPU for him for some lite gaming but trying out splinter cell blacklist it runs terrible even on low and has 100% CPU usage and like 25-35 GPU usage.

I don't mind buying a new board if I have to I'm using a micro-ATX in a full ATX case anyway (I don't mind that because I mainly only use a graphics and wifi card on PCI) but I'll only need it if my CPU starts to become a bottleneck. Surely something else could be done about that anyway by using an older audio driver or something on the newer bios I don't mind it too much if I can get an unlocked bios to unlock the extra features.

I rolled back to 0507 because it messed up my realtek hd audio drivers and it was playing so loud that the green bar on windows on the volume meter was filling to the top instead of just over halfway while playing music. 'Improve system stability and performance. The release notes are very very short: ROG MAXIMUS XIII HERO BIOS 0902. So I'm up to 0904 now and that mean's any unlocked cm6630 version should work if there's such thing.Īnother edit (rather than double posting) Asus has officially released a new BIOS for the Maximus 13 Hero. I just went onto ASUS website and 0507 was the only bios so I went to cm6630 instead and flashed it and now it says thisīIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. I just want to know in case my cpu ends up bottlenecking in the future. I'm currently saving for a GTX970 and I have an i5 3340s 2.8-3.3ghz. I'm looking to know if there's an unlocked bios for my machine. If a BIOS with Intel® ME must be downgraded and the downgrade will affect the Intel® ME version, the Recovery BIOS Update is the only method you can use.Hi. If the desktop board supports the Intel® Management Engine (Intel® ME), BIOS downgrades are not recommended for security reasons. Just confirm that you want to do this and continue the update process. If you are using an older BIOS update package than what is currently installed, you will be prompted to confirm that you really want to downgrade the BIOS. The steps to downgrade a BIOS to an older version are exactly the same as for upgrading to a newer version.
